Comment on this blog post and be put in a drawing to win a copy of the book I am in called ART SAVES. You have until Sunday morning on July 3 and I will announce the winner Sunday Evening.
AND THE WINNER IS #68
So, I'm in this book. And I'm grateful. But really, it just happened after I kept doing what I've always done and kept talking about it. All the things that don't make me perfect and maybe make me weird to a lot of people who would never talk to me unless they knew I was in a book. Cause when I had anxiety disorder full time I sure didn't have anyone banging at my door. I was alone in my apartment and couldn't trust my own mind. And after crying and praying and suffering another day of being confused, art was there for me. As often as I wanted it. Whether through dancing or writing or painting or sketching doodles in the corners of my school papers - its a way out. A way through. And a way to live when there is nothing much you think is worth living for. It makes you want to keep going and keep excited.
It gave me hope.and just the littlest bit of hope makes things better. So today, I pass hope onto you. It will get better.
This is Heidi from Stampavie. She is from France. She is my soulmate. It's like me with blonde hair and without a jersey accent. Planning a trip to France!
I got to dine with Maryanne Vanwingerden, a student who's work I am happily putting in my book. She's coming out to visit me this summer.
La Petite Jenny Doh! It amazes me how you can give many artists the same template and each of them make it into something different and usually, something that represents themselves. We can't help but put our thumbprints onto what we fondle.
I promised Georgette I would make an Angel of a deeper color for her in my book, and dedicate it to her. My problem has been that I blend my faces with a white pencil - hence why the light girls have been easiest to do. But there is a call for ALL GIRLS to make pretty faces so Im on the job. Book deadline is July 1st and I will make Georgette proud.
Les Petit Paolo! He was the photographer for the event and has the coolest mustache ever. Hence forth all boys accompany Suzi Dolls will have vintage villian mustaches. He is coming to visit me too.
And we are on the job fixing Finney's tail. You can't fool around with a bacterial infection so I have vet tech appointments to help keep his wounded areas spotless, (he wont let me touch his tail for baths. When I know it hurts him it makes me press lighter and that's not good.) It was almost cleared up but then came back. That will not happen again. We and the vet team together will fix my poor finney.
My next giveaway, (and it is way fun giving away stuff, if I run out of art supplies I'll start digging through gigi's toys and various things in my junk drawer), is fabric paint and a pen from Jacquard. Next week I'll make a video and the random lottery will begin. But now, back to the book.
Post this ridiculous badge on your blog - link back to me - and on Thursday morning I will use random.org to pick a winner of a $50.00 Gift Certificate from Novica.com
This is Houston. She stayed with us for a week while her mommy went on vacation. Sweet sweet doggie. She likes to play and cuddle and loves to wear clothes.
I grew up with small dogs so it was neat to have her so big like a person to hug and kiss!
I thought it would be cute if gigi rode her like a horse and as patient as gigi is she didn't feel like a rodeo today.
Finney's favorite thing is to take a nap and he does it well.
But he couldn't help waking up for the large poodle that was now in the room!
Cute Cute!
This is Matilda from Matilda's Mouse. I spelled it wrong in the video. Very cool store and they dress up the dog different for every month! She is 13 years old and loves the attention.
Here is my art journal page. It's not finished but it's a good start. Don't be intimidated to draw from life. I don't know how to draw a poodle but there she was right in front of me. Draw your Life! I used Faber Castell Aquarelle Water Color pencils because they are permanent when they dry. (Great for layering). Draw an image as best as you can then smudge the lines with a wet brush. Spray water over it and make it run to look messy. I am not finished with this page - I know want to add scrapbook elements like photos and journaling. I will post more pics when I have them.
I send you 100 Gigi Kisses for Easter! Now don't forget, post the ridiculous baby head badge on your blog, link back to here and post your blog post and Thursday morning there will be a winner! For the blog challanged copy and paste the html below into the html part of your blog and you are good to go. Don't forget to come back here and comment and put up a link to your blog!
