No one, no one, loves coffee as much as I do. It literally was the only reason I got out of bed since my father died. I didn't have much I wanted to live for, but I could live for that. When it hit my throat and bled out into my veins filling me with sugary warm coffee chocolate goodness, I could face anything. At least as long as it didn't wear off.
Rich used to say, "You are more fun when you are drunk," I'm also more fun caffeinated. In both situations it is because I'm either too shy or too tired to be fun without it. I went to the bank today. The bank guy was uber gorgeous like model gorgeous. I couldn't look at him straight in the face and smile I just kept looking at the desk while I answered his questions. I am great on camera, I am great with girls, but with guys, I need to alter my mood. If I was coffee'd up I would have felt more confident. Speeding let's my thoughts spin through my head without a filter, there is no time for low self esteem because you are too busy speeding.
So I know about the coffee thing. If, however, though, seriously, really, you feel like crap and are tired all the time, the very fact of how much you need coffee is indictative that your body is not balanced, you need to stop it. Not even a little at a time and not with decaf. Drink Teeccino.
You brew it like coffee and it comes out very good. It's not as strong as coffee but it is closer than other things, AND it has lots of stuff in it that is good for you. When I mix it with light cream I do not feel like I am drinking tea. You can drink traditional tea in place of coffee but that doesn't work for me. When I want coffee tea doesn't do it. Teeccino is very close and is very good for you. So just do it.
The smoothie is going to make you feel amazing. You don't even taste the spinach the raspberries mask it totally. You need greens. Period. If you want amazing energy the more greens you swallow during the day the more you have. But I am not a salad person. It's cold and takes forever to chew. I don't have that kind of time. Drinking them in a yummy smoothie makes them go down like a dessert.
And since you have given up white sugar and flour doesn't mean you can't have comfort food. I made this Apple Crisp and it is SO GOOD. You won't miss flour at all.
