Look how cute she is! So what I did was go to a thrift store and find something to be inspired by. I chose this China Doll Bowl Doll thing because she is sort of already my style. She is a cute little doll. And a bowl too, how functional.  I immediately started sketching.

So many different ways I could go with this, which is what makes Thrift Store Art so fun.  Instead of staring at a white page here you have a place to start. I imagined lots of girls with different personalities.


And while the China Doll Bowl Girl is extremely happy, my girls weren't. They were kind of sullen. And I imagined a world where maybe the little China Doll Girl wasn't very happy but always had to pretend to be. I didn't want to do that to my girls so I let them be sad.
